CHICAGO READING ORCHESTRA ONGOING CONDUCTORS WORKSHOP

Wanted conductors who wish to conduct a high-level professional reading orchestra that performs major works and video tape themselves in the process. It is also possible, given advance notice to negotiate other pieces if we are given six months or more lead time. Regular members of the Chicago Reading Orchestra are regular substitutes or permanent players with the Chicago Symphony, Grant Park Symphony, Lyric Opera of Chicago and other well-respected ensembles. The location is in downtown Chicago, Illinois, USA. Applicants will be given an hour for a fee of $200. Travel arrangements and fees are your own responsibility. March and April 2005 repertoire have included, Beethoven 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 symphonies, Brahms 1, 2, 3, 4 symphonies, and the Dvorak 7 symphony. Past May 2005 repertoire was:

May 12: Brahms Academic Festival, Brahms Tragic Overture
May 17: Elgar Cockaigne and In The South Overtures
May 19: Tchaikovsky 4
May 24: Forza del Destino Verdi, Beethoven Fidelio, Beethoven 1
May 26: Bruckner 4
